This is a key management role in this world class organisation’s UK Offshore Development team.
The key responsibility for this post is to deliver high quality, safe, fully leased and consented offshore wind farms. The focus is very much on development and the initial priority will be to deliver planning consents for Round 3 wind farms. From an early stage, the post will work within a Joint Venture (JV) company established for the development of one or more Round 3 Zones. The post will take a senior position within this JV company with primary responsibility for progressing development on a number of specific wind farm projects within a larger zone.
Detailed accountabilities will include:

Understanding of health and safety requirements and compliance with same
•
Responsible for the day to day management of the development of a group of wind farm projects
•
Recruitment, training, management, motivation, staff development and career planning of the required team
•
Detailed management and control of agreed budgets describing variance when appropriate. Contribute to annual setting of budgets
•
Management of the relationship with joint venture partners
•
Regular communication of project progress to stakeholders. Identification and internal communication of opportunities and risks associated with the proposed development
The successful candidate will ideally have:
•
Extensive experience developing projects, ideally in the wind, power or offshore sector
•
Excellent project management skills including a proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, internal staff, subcontractors and consultants
•
Numerical ability with a degree in engineering, environmental science or comparable industry project management qualifications
•
Detailed management and control of agreed budgets describing variance when appropriate. Contribute to annual setting of budgets
•
Management of the relationship with joint venture partners
•
Regular communication of project progress to stakeholders. Identification and internal communication of opportunities and risks associated with the proposed development
He or she will also have experience in one or more of the following core areas:
•
Environmental Assessment, planning applications, marine or civil engineering, health and safety, grid connection applications, excellent organisation and management skills

change. In this position, you will be responsible for executing consultancy business in wind
energy in the United Kingdom. You need to be able to manage and execute projects at
principal consultant level, guarding budget, planning and quality. In the first year, most
assignments will be focused around Environmental Impact Assessments and permits for wind
farms. You are expected to manage consultancy works in close cooperation with the project
developer, and also subcontract work to other Wind departments.
Your profile:
•
Proven experience in consultancy in renewable energy, preferably wind energy
•
Knowledge and experience in Environmental Impact Assessments, landscaping studies,
UK legislation on planning and permitting processes, is an important asset
•
Knowledge of local wind energy developments, the ability to build a network in the
sector in the UK (project developers, authorities, utilities, consultants) in short term
•
Vision and ability to set realistic and ambitious goals and able to realize them
•
The ability to build up experience in consultancy services related to wind energy project
development such as scoping studies, feasibility studies, consenting process wind
resources assessments and impact studies; strong analytical skills, solution oriented
approach
•
Excellent communication and presentation skills
•
You will have a preference if you bring strong commercial attitude and entrepreneurial
skills in identifying and seizing opportunities in a competitive market place
