We are looking for a Planning Manager with knowledge of renewable energy applications to LPAs to join the in-house team. We are looking for someone that can support and manage external planning consultants to submit renewable energy projects into the Town and County planning system including: Pre-App meetings, public consultations, Parish Council meetings, managing EIA screenings, stat consultee responses, committee hearings, planning appeals and judicial reviews.

This is a vital role within the wider development team. Liaising with teams within the company, external planning advisors, consultants, and Planning Officers at the LPAs. This role sits in their Waste Team and reports directly to the head of department. The Waste Team is tasked with ensuring compliance with their waste Environmental Permits through waste assessment and acceptance; site monitoring and reporting; provision of advice and support to operations; liaison with the Environment Agency and the provision of Environmental Permits, licences and approvals to maintain business operations. You will be responsible but not limited for; the provision of Environmental Permits and associated documentation for the business to ensure continuity of operations; Robust management of the application process and engagement and management of suppliers to deliver the same; Implementation of any necessary management systems to facilitate effective and up to date communication of the status of any application and any issues arising to the business; A proactive approach in identifying potential issues and opportunities before they arise; Regular reporting and updates to the senior management team; Liaison and support to colleagues within the waste team and the wider operational team. In order to be considered for this role you will have; A minimum of five years’ experience of the waste and resources management industry either in a consultancy setting or playing a role in the delivery of in-house or outsourced service delivery; An understanding of waste and recycling management systems, legislation and policy in the UK; Experience of working with Officers and elected members at a senior level; An understanding of waste strategies and the options available to implement them; Experience of analysing operational and financial data to identify and understand the root causes of issues, and develop effective solutions; Modelling of waste services, understanding the processes, inputs, calculations and outputs, supported by excellent numerical, data handling and spreadsheet skills using Microsoft Excel; High levels of written and verbal communication skills and confident in the delivery of presentations; Excellent time management skills, including the ability to respond to requests for outputs at short notice; An ability to innovate and tailor solutions to meet evolving requirements is critical to the role; Experience across waste collection authority and waste disposal authority functions or close involvement in work acquired through joint working, partnership activities or project-specific activities; Working within a technical consultancy environment or within a client organisation involving direct contact with consultants or consultancy projects; Working within a private sector waste services company supporting the provision of services to local government and private sector customers; Experience in applying Circular Economy business models; Experience of waste collections modelling, using either bespoke models or WRAP’s Kerbside Analysis Tool (KAT). We are working with a leading environmental consultancy. They now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Consultant to join the Waste and Resource Management team. The Principal Consultant will lead projects, lead proposal development and support business development activities. In addition to these activities, my client is looking for a lead on waste data management tasks – focused on waste flow modelling and carbon assessment tasks. The successful applicant will be working on strategic projects in the UK and internationally, for local authorities and private sector clients, therefore adaptability and flexibility are essential. In order to be considered you will be an experienced waste management expert, ideally with extensive consultancy experience of providing innovative solutions to public and private sector clients. Qualified to post-graduate level in a relevant discipline, you should have several years’ experience in senior consultancy or other relevant sector employment. You will need to demonstrate a track record in developing waste and resource management solutions, working with organisations to implement change and be in possession of strong project and client management skills. You will have skills in using business management systems, business development, proposal writing, report writing and data analysis; Experienced in delivering carbon assessments including the use of impact assessment tools such as WRATE. I am working with an Environmental Consultancy that have an opportunity available for a Data Analyst to be an integral part of the operations team providing strong account management and technical support to existing customers (in line with the customer service policy) ensuring a positive retention record is maintained and building strong customer relations. Carrying out detailed data analysis when required and supporting the sales team in the achievement of company growth targets by offering technical input with the securing of new business and ensuring opportunities are optimised within the existing customer database.
