Role

You are a Senior C++ Systems Software Engineer who will report to the Head of Software

The company has built the world’s first underground structure constructed entirely by a small fleet of swarming robots. They now plan to fully commercialise the process and will be further enhancing the software that will control the bots in a swarm as well as represent this entire process in a Digital Twin.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize C++ applications for data-acquisition, real-time data-processing, and control.
• Develop digital-twin rendering and simulation applications in a robotics context.
• Develop high-performance production applications and libraries from prototype code.
• Implement complex algorithms and data structures in C++ to solve specific problems e.g. robot scheduling.
• Design and implement system-components using modern C++ (11-20) and object-oriented methods.
• Work with multithreading and concurrency, understanding the intricacies of synchronization, race conditions, and deadlock resolution.
• Integrate third-party libraries and APIs for extended functionality.
• Write robust, testable, and maintainable code; conduct rigorous code reviews.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of professional experience in advanced C++ development.
• Experience with Agile software-development practices.
• Proficient in advanced C++ concepts, including templates.
• Experience with real-time systems, performance and resource optimization.
• Familiarity with network programming, sockets, and communication protocols.
• Demonstrable experience with version control systems, preferably Github.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Contributions to major C++ projects or active engagement in the C++ community.
• Experience with multithreaded development (both task-parallel and data-parallel).
• Experience with object-oriented design and SOLID principles.
• Experience with CUDA or other GPU-compute platform/API (optional).
• Experience with Unreal Engine (optional).
• Experience with shader programming (HLSL etc, optional).
• Experience with Boost C++ libraries (optional).

The role

• Oversee all business operations across the company, including construction, financial and back-office functions,  
• Ensure the day-to-day successful running of several construction sites & operational sites during warranty period.
• Being a member of the UK Executive Management team to help lead the business, manage risk, and develop sustainable strategies for future success.
• Matrix management with liaison with significant support team from majority shareholder.
• Manage a team of inhouse staff of between 5 and 10 employees and remotely manage via relevant site manager construction teams during build programme.
• You will have responsibility for Operations & Construction activities, H&S, Project Management, financial records & forecasts, ensuring the smooth, safe & profitable running of the sites whilst maximising levels of customer satisfaction & Environmental compliance.
• Manage and deliver complex projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team.

I am working with a leading, global low-carbon energy and services company who have a new role available for a Commercial Solar PV Design Manager. The main purpose of the role is to lead design from outline business case through to construction of Solar PV / Battery Storage Systems. You role will be but not limited to; Agree appointment and scope of service for Design Team alongside Pre-construction Manager; Review design management protocols with Design Coordinator / Assistant Design Coordinator; Clear communication of expectations for design deliverables with designers; Commission required surveys/reports; Review compliance with all relevant regulations/legislation; Liaison with the Pre-Construction Manager for commercial costing activities; Liaison with the operational teams regarding buildability and logistics; Monitoring of design & resolution of technical queries; Review design deliverables and design programmes; Comply with document management protocols; Assist with procurement and construction programs; Chairing design team meetings; Lead Client meetings during Bid Phases. An opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced Site Electrician to be based in Dublin. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to; Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work; Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager; Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required; Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system; Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order; Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works; Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) prior to starting work evidencing it is safe to proceed. In order to be considered you will have the following experience & qualifications; Maintenance and repair of Electrical Systems; Excellent fault finding and diagnosis skills a must; Carry out Installation work and complete appropriate Certification; Operation and interrogation of BMS; Basic knowledge in building fabric repairs; A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential; Edition 18 is essential; Trade qualified Electrician with at least 5-years post apprenticeship experience; Must have a full clean driver’s licence; Computer literate; Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised;                 Physically fit; Fluent in English both written and oral; Must be available to participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.

There is an immediate requirement to hire a strong team player to build and manage a team of experts in the field of Data & Software.

The Role

The Head of Data & Software is likely to be an accomplished Software Developer having already completed at least 2 significant projects incorporating architecture, design, development, integration, analytical models, smart automation/control and delivery of a data science platform.  You will be able to specify and build a full software stack from infrastructure to software.

You will take on the task of building a team of expert engineers in the fields of Data Science, VR/AR Visualisation, IoT, Comms and Cloud Technologies.  You will lead the data architectural elements of how the company collects, structures and uses data across the organisation.

You will conceive and design the data structures and integrations that will enable the rapid, efficient and effective delivery on all objectives across the company.  In addition you will develop database solutions by designing systems, defining database physical structures and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

This role requires great communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
