As a key member of the business, this role is responsible for leading the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental agenda across the business and in line with group strategy, systems and processes. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the business understands and operates within the relevant legislative guidelines, and controls, on Health & Safety and Environment, while ensuring that the appropriate Management Systems are in place and monitored and reviewed, to ensure compliance with the applicable reference standards ISO9001, ISO 14001 and ISO45001. Leading a small team of plant based QHSE Technical staff, the responsibilities of the role will include ensuring that plant and HQ operations, implement, monitor and review the preventative and protective measures necessary to minimize workplace accidents and injuries, while minimizing operational loses and ensuring legislative compliance. Developing and establishing robust quality control systems to support the projected business growth and domestic and export sales will be a key feature of the role. As the champion of Quality, Health & Safety and Environment the role will seek to further develop across the business, a structure and culture where all employees, contractors and visitors have the safest possible work environment. The role will also seek to support the business on its journey to environmental best practice and seek to keep the business aligned with all relevant information and assume the obligations deriving from compliance with environmental legislation. In order to be considered for this role you will have a; University Degree in a Technical Subject or Sciences (Engineering, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences); Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate; Relevant experience within Waste Management sector or manufacturing sector; Familiar with implementing ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001 or equivalents; Experience in waste management sector; Environmental Legislation (IEMA); Full driving licence; Effective communicator at all levels of the business; Detailed knowledge of the latest ISO Standards; Trained Auditor; Experienced problem solver; Effective facilitator leading cross functional teams across each business area; The ability to manage multiple priorities to deliver sustained change.
